The folks at Ford released a video Christmas present this week featuring Ford Racing's Andy Vrenko hosting a complete walk-around of the company's latest turn-key race car, the Ford Focus ST-R. The latest spec racer is approved for competition in the Grand-Am ST, World Challenge TC and the Canadian Touring Car series (pending homologation approvals). The engine and transmission are production-based components from the street-legal Focus ST.

Bentley are busy updating their cars, a process which started with the new Bentley Mulsanne and carried on with the 2012 Continental GT this time last year. And now, just too late for summer, we get the 2012 Bentley Continental GTC – the one with the soft top. As you would hope, in an age when lightness and frugality are key, Bentley has managed to cut the weight of the new Continental GT – but only by 70kg over the current model.
The College for Creative Studies (CCS) recently celebrated 20 years of partnership with the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). Illustrating that environmental responsibility needn't come at the expense of design, power or desire, three students created their individual vision of a "Green Steel" concept car, resulting in the Lincoln Continental, Mazda Hyoryu and Mitsubishi Synthesis. Considering the current energy and environmental global crisis, the students involved in this project took the opportunity to re-think mobility for the year 2040 by developing innovative adaptations for automobiles and proposing a more humanistic approach to transportation.
